Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton are built like brick shithouses. On the inside, though, they’re fragile as kittens, as we discover in Warrior.
The ‘family drama’ answer to comedy bromances, Warrior may feature guys kicking the crap out of each other (using mixed martial arts), but it’s really about fractured love, damaged children and years-held hurt.
Hardy and Edgerton shoulder much of the emotional weight, but Nick Nolte (as their ex-alcoholic father) is simply mesmerising. You’ll need tissues. And probably a hug.
